If you have spent anytime reading up on successful internet marketing strategies then you surely know the fantastic importance of building a targeted email list. If you are not currently building a mailing then let me repeat what every internet marketing guru since the dawn of the internet has said over and over again; "the money is in the list." Every time you launch a new website, blog, or website your main focus should be on growing your mailing list.
The trouble that most newbie internet marketers have with list-building is that they simply don't know what they are doing. In other words, there is so much bogus information out there that it can be difficult to know what actually works when it comes to list building techniques. When I was new to internet marketing I wasted a great deal of my precious time on list building techniques that simply didn't work.
Here are 3 easy list-building techniques that will actually get results:
Create something of value to giveaway - Let's say you have crunched the numbers and you have decided that the scrap-booking niche is very attractive. You have found tons of products to promote as an affiliate but you don't have a list to promote to.
By creating an information product you will have something to giveaway to those interested in scrap-booking in exchange for their name and email address. To create an information product you don't actually have to know a thing about scrap-booking. You can simply put together a collection of top notch articles from the article directories, shell out a few bucks for an e-cover, and presto, you have an information product you can giveaway to build your list.
Joint Venture Giveaways - These are mostly for those trying to build a list in the lucrative internet marketing niche. A JV giveaway is where one marketer hosts a giveaway event and asks other marketers to submit giveaway items such as books, videos, graphics, or software. By becoming a contributor to one of these events you can start building your list in a flash.
MySpace - Few marketers know that you can place an opt in form right on your MySpace pages. This means that anyone who views your MySpace page can opt in to your mailing list. In addition, MySpace is excellent for targeting very specific niche markets which means you can use free MySpace pages build huge, targeted mailing lists.
