Since your clientele needs to be told exactly what to do, and they need to be reminded to do it over and over again, your autoresponder is like your silent elf dropping into email boxes in the middle of the night with powerful messages of motivation and progress.

The basic internet based sale is not made on the first website visit unless the client knows exactly what they want and have no need for comparison shopping. In most cases however, the client wants time to look around, find the best quality for the best price, and proceed from there. Your powerhouse autoresponder is there to remind them not only of your presence, but of all the reasons why you are the number one selection for them. There is quite a bit of competition out there, and by all means you should be as ready to leap up and get noticed as everyone else is. You are not only trying to become the squeaky wheel, but you want to be the squeaky wheel that everyone just can't help but falling in love with.

The truth of the matter is, most people who signed up for an autoresponder email list aren't going to change their mind, especially if you have them go through a link to remove their name and email address. If they just have to hit the reply button with REMOVE in the subject line, they are more likely to drop off the list. People don't respond to the hassle of clicking a link nearly as often.
